'BioShock' gets injected with new downloadable content
2K Games has today announced the release of new downloadable content for both Xbox 360 and PC versions ofBioShock. The content includes new Plasmids and Tonics, achievements and interface upgrades.

Four Plasmids and Gene Tonics:

• Sonic Boom:Hurls creatures and objects back with a blast of force
• EVE saver:Enables Plasmids to use less EVE
• Vending Expert:Reduces prices in the vending machines
• Machine Buster:Increases the amount of damage players deal to cameras, bots and turrets

Achievements (exclusive to Xbox 360):

• Xbox 360 players can gain 100 points for “Brass Balls,” by beating BioShock on the “hard” difficulty setting without dying

2K has also added a widescreen option that offers a wider horizontal fiend of vision, as well as "additional enhancements to the game".

This new downloadable content is available for free via the Xbox Live Marketplace, through an Xbox 360 Title Update, and as part of a PC patch.

'South Park' takes on 'Guitar Hero' tonight
The kids ofSouth Parkhave played their fair share of video games, and tonight they will be taking onGuitar Heroin an episode oh so creatively titledGuitar Queer-O.

According to the Comedy Central Press Release, Stan's superiorGuitar Heroskills damage his relationship with Kyle when Stan realizes he'd be more successful with another partner.

As long as we don't see a return of Eric'sWorld of Warcraftpoop bucket, I'm all sorts of excited.

On another note, those of you who are looking forward to the release ofRock Star(and who isn't), stop by your local Best Buy for a chance to play it in store. Jer and I had some fun yesterday at our local Best Buy, and I, apparently, have some pretty rockin' drum skills. Pretty soon I'll have to ditch Jer and seek out a new partner. Of course, I'll wait and see how it all works out for Stan and Kyle tonight before making any decisions.

Obsessed with the Guitar Hero video game, Stan and Kyle make a great team and score record points when they play. Stan realizes he has the potential for enormous success if he plays with another partner. He and Kyle break up but, without his friend, Stan quickly folds under the pressure of being a rockstar.

New 'GTA: 4' Trailer: 'Move up, Ladies'
It's been out for a couple of days now, and I'm just posting it now. What of it? Well, here you go:

1) It's the holidays and we've been extremely busy publishing walkthroughs (ourSuper Mario GalaxyGame Guideis the latest).

2) I'm still bitter with Rockstar for postponing the release. Seeing a new trailer serves only as a bitter reminder that this title should be resting happily in my "done" pile.

3) Honestly, I'm not too impressed with the trailer. There is no gameplay, and there's only so much thuggish storyline I can care about without actually getting my hands dirty.

Xbox Live is 5ive Celebrations

On November 15 Xbox Live will turn five. They grow up so fast *tears*.

To celebrate, Microsoft is holdingall sorts of events.

Of particular interest to me is thePlay and Win Sweepstakes.

In addition, Microsoft has announced that for 48 hours beginning at 12:01 am on Nov. 15th, gamers can downloadCarcassonnefor free AND that it will be giving 500 MS points to anybody who joined Xbox Live in 2002 (that's me!).

Want some more excitement? Hold on to your hats! Original Xbox games will be available for download beginning on Dec. 4. The titles mentioned so far:Halo,Psychonauts,Crimson Skies, andFable. Each of these games will cost 1,200 MS points ($15).
